SCRIPT provides screenplays solely as an educational resource for students, scholars, and aspiring screenwriters studying the craft of screenwriting. Our use of these materials is non-commercial and intended to facilitate learning, criticism, and commentary on the art of screenwriting. We believe this use falls within the scope of fair use as defined by United States copyright law.
Pursuant to 17 U.S. Code § 107 — Limitations on exclusive rights: Fair use — the fair use of a copyrighted work for purposes such as criticism, comment, teaching, scholarship, or research is not an infringement of copyright. In determining whether a use constitutes fair use, the following factors are considered:
SCRIPT's use is non-commercial, the works are published screenplays made available for study, access is restricted to registered users for educational purposes, and we do not compete with or substitute for the market for the original works.
SCRIPT will promptly address and remove any content alleged to infringe upon copyright or other intellectual property rights. Upon receiving a formal request or notification, we will diligently assess and, where appropriate, expeditiously remove the infringing material.
